Meet Your Photographer
Serving Indiana, Kentucky, and Beyond
I was 8 years old when I received my first camera on Christmas Day. I carried that yellow Crayola 35mm with me everywhere. That was 1999, before digital files took the place of film. Thankfully, my parents developed every moment I captured. Three years later, in 6th grade, I took a test intended to provide answers about my future career. At that time, I was a young girl in a MUDD sweater and Doc Martin’s. Halfway through the test, I knew I wanted to be a photographer. I couldn’t help but feel that not doing it would lead me to wishing I had. When my first daughter was born, my love for photography intensified. The urge to freeze memories around me so I could cherish them forever consumed and inspired me.
My passion to capture every detail of that moment in time is the same passion I feel when sharing in my clients’ love stories, documenting their journey to parenthood, or witnessing a female client’s confidence blossom in front of the camera. I can’t recreate the first kiss as man and wife or replicate the unique smile of an adorable child, but I can forever capture the raw emotions these moments provide.
To borrow a quote from Thomas Merton, I firmly believe love is our true destiny. I am blessed to be a full-time participant in so many precious memories created out of love. For this reason, weddings will always have my heart. Fresh flowers, beautiful brides, capturing the perfect shot during golden hour; they are the essence of what it means to me to be a photographer. There is nothing like being in the presence of love. There is nothing like being a witness to the promise that it will last a lifetime. And, yes, the details are EVERYTHING!
I have calmed nerves, decorated cakes, and even mailed off a wedding certificate. There is nothing I would not do for my brides and grooms! My clean, airy, bright photos allow you to see yourself the way I did on your special day. To think couples will look back 20 years from now and relive the emotions of the day they pledged to devote themselves to each other is a feeling I struggle to put into words.
Whether it’s the clean look of a Senior photo, or the classic look of a family session, I become part of the family for the day, an honor I take to heart. That honor is multiplied exponentially when a past bride and groom ask me to capture their maternity and newborn photos. Every picture tells a story, and everyone has a story to tell.
